Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Approximately 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount is scheduled to start large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.

The workforce reduction are a result of the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional overseas workforce reductions are anticipated, as the firm planning to announce complete information during its Q3 financial results on 10 November.

Prior news had indicated that Paramount was looking to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.

By December 2024, the organization retained nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.

The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
